Mission

I am a true believer in the creepily puritanical, yet accurate saying, "Idle hands are the devil's playground." Therefore, I will give myself a mission to accomplish for this week that is twofold...

1. Find an authentic, local, independently owned, cute boutique in Las Vegas.

2. Determine how to dress like a fashionable adult on a shoestring budget.

This reminds me of my godmother Kay who can do anything on a shoestring budget, including travel the world while being adorably accessorized. I remember her telling me the life story of one of her classic outfits. She wore this blue and white pin-striped dress with red accents to work at "the bank" for many years. She would also wear it out for different occasions "of an evening" (I love that phrase). Finally, her colleagues informed her that it had seen better days and had to go. She then relegated it to house dress status, where it lives on to this very day. It has basically reached iconic status in my memory.
